We are committed to providing our players with the best possible experience, both on and off the field. We believe that softball is a lifelong sport, and we are dedicated to helping our players develop the skills and character they need to succeed in life.

Lindsay Schott leads our softball program with extensive high-level experience and a deep passion for the game. A Fort Wayne, Indiana native, Lindsay began her collegiate playing career at the University of Findlay before returning home to finish an outstanding career at Saint Francis. She also brings college-level coaching experience from both Saint Francis and IPFW. In addition to her accomplishments on the softball field, Lindsay played her 5th year at Saint Francis as part of the basketball program. We’re proud to have Lindsay guiding Mad Apple Softball with her knowledge, energy, and commitment to excellence.

Kaylie Hammel

Kaylie Hammel is a Fort Wayne native with an outstanding athletic career at Carroll High School. She went to Manchester to play but tore her entire labrum and returned to Fort Wayne to begin her coaching journey. Kaylie has now been coaching for 7 years and is back at Carroll High School as part of the coaching staff. She brings great knowledge of the game and valuable experience from travel ball organizations throughout the Fort Wayne area. Kaylie’s leadership and positive energy guide our athletes and coaches across the program.

Sharlette Brown

Sharlette Brown is the backbone of Mad Apple Softball behind the scenes. A long-time softball mom, she excels at business analysis and project management, ensuring our program runs smoothly and efficiently. Her dedication, organization, and steady leadership keep the program strong for players, coaches, and families.

Amber Bowman

Amber Bowman joins Mad Apple Softball from the college coaching world, where she has built an impressive résumé at multiple levels. Most recently, Amber served as the head coach at Purdue Fort Wayne for four years, where she led the program from never making the Horizon League tournament to finishing as runners-up in her final season. Prior to her time at PFW, Amber spent two years as head coach at Davenport University, served as an assistant coach at PFW, and led her alma mater, the University of Rio Grande, to both the conference tournament and the NAIA national tournament for the first time in a decade. She has also coached at UNOH and began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Rio Grande. Amber brings elite experience, player development expertise, and a proven record of building winning programs.
